Who am I when I am not cooking plant-based meals and illustrating stories with words?

Well…I am someone who reports potholes, actually stops at stop signs, and I’ve even helped shut down a brothel. I have two big dogs and two purr babies. And I have the arthritis of a stunt double…or so I’ve been told. Arthritis coupled with migraines is what started by Herbivore lifestyle.

Where am I from?

Raised in the edge of the Sandhills region of Nebraska among the hooves of Angus cattle and beards of wheat fields. I learned to appreciate the outdoors in my single digit years. I love to hear the throat-clearing call of a pheasant or melody of a meadowlark’s song drift in harmony across the grasses. My father was a hunter and my great-grandfather was known for always having a tackle box in one hand. My mother and her sisters are all birders. I can’t count the number of times we conducted a yearly census on Thanksgiving Day for the Audubon Society. And I have always had paw babies.

I hold a BA in English from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and have written professionally since 2007.

  • How to build a Buddha Bowl... think heighten and add! Dress with drizzled Tahini and Valentina sauce. Add a little crunch with some toasted pumpkin seeds and raw almonds. Start with the bit you don’t think you’re going to like 🤣
